Smeared Ink Saturday

Lady B here with Smeared Ink Saturday. Today's post will be short as I have a ton of things to do today. Here is a project I started last night using the "Morbidly Adorable Tarot" set 1 featuring artwork by Misty Benson. You can purchase this set at the shop. I used "The High Priestess" image from this set, stamped her with Memento Ink, colored her with Copic Markers, and put together a simple card using papers from Crafty Chaos Designs. I accented this piece with Distress Stickles.

You may not realize it, but even we DT members do not create perfect projects. I have flaws in my projects all the time, but most do not notice the flaws other than myself, of course. I am not a great stamper and do not always get a clear image. If you look closely at the project above you will see areas that did not stamp perfectly. I am also VERY SLOPPY when it comes to coloring. This is improving as I bought some awesome cardstock that dramatically reduces any bleed from my markers. Check out "into the dark" on the forum for a little review on this product. Why am I telling blog land that my projects aren't perfect? Because NO project is ever perfect. I encourage you to try to work with your mistakes and see what you end up with. Your marker smeared? Make that area a shadow or rub distress ink over your project for an intentional grungy effect. Art supplies are too expensive to toss aside a little mishap. Playing with our mistakes increases our skills as artists. Most of my favorite projects derived from mistakes. Let go of your idea of perfection and let the art flow. Let the feeling of your piece take over. You may really like what you end up with.

Cheers!

Help for Katie 2

Many of you may know all about fellow crafter, Katie Renz's battle

with cancer, however if you don't please go here:

http://www.help4katie.blogspot.com/ .

This is the second time that some very generous sponsors have

contributed to a special digital stamp pack full of beautiful images

to help raise money for Katie and help her fight her battle financially as well.

For a donation of $15 you will receive all of these images.

Here is the stamp that Betty created for Katie:

Here is what I created using Betty's colored version of this image:

Note:  This is Betty's colored image, not mine.  I want to give credit where credit is due.  I just added shadows and stuck this little cutie in the scene.

The background image was originally by Itkupilli.  I just tweaked it a bit by adding more branches and shadows so it would appear that the ribbon swing is hanging from the branches.  The sentiment was created by my SBC teamie, Cheri.  The sentiment is included in the digi package as well.  My papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs.  I am totally loving working with Susan's papers!

Check out the SBC blog for the deets on the digi package that is for sale to raise money for Katie.  Be sure to join the hop to see what all the lovely ladies have created for this event.

Here is where you can join in the fun!

Smeared Ink Saturday...from the Dungeon

Welcome back to another episode of Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B. Today we will be visiting a Dungeon in Chicago, IL with two of our favorite ladies from "Femdom".

The background is an actual photo fromt the LRA website. Gotta love google! Type in a few key words and find whatever you want. I don't know who took the photo so I cannot give proper credit. I'm not selling this so hopefully I am not infringing on any copywrite laws. On top of the photo I inserted my Smeared Ink "Femdom" digis that were previously printed and colored with copic markers. I added a few drop shadows and digi papers from Crafty Chaos Designs.

SBC Recycle Challenge

Today Angela at SBC is challenging you to RECYCLE. Come on how easy is that?!
Don't toss it, Use it.

You can use scrap leftover paper, packing from paper, embellishments, bits and pieces of leftover embellishments or anything craft or non craft related.

It's up to you, just have fun with it and use things in a way you would never even think to use on your creations.

Here is my creation for this challenge:

My recycled items include the cardboard backing of an embellishment package, scraps of 7 gypsies paper, and a skull from the packaging of rub-ons from Creative Imaginations. I used "Valentine Betty" from Simply Betty Stamps and colored her with copic markers and Atyou spica gel pens.

I can't wait to see what you come up with for this RECYCLE Challenge.

The loves of my life: Macabre Monday HDH076 - Love bites!

***Disclaimer***

The following project is horrible.

It was designed for this weeks challenge at Haunted Design House.

Don't blame Barb for this.  She didn't know I'd get so twisted with this week's challenge.

Most will be offended by viewing my offering.

Click away now.

I am totally serious.

Seriously, I am not fucking around.

Okay...you've had your chance.

Wait!

If you are going to view this please, PLEASE get your little kiddos away from the computer screen!

For real, this project is bad.

My few kindred spirits will appreciate the twistedness of my project and will understand that said project does not truly represent my views.

Please, no hate mail.  Don't send me a map with directions on how to find Jesus either.

I am not the Devil's Spawn.

Ok...you've been warned!
(click to biggie size the pic)

Images: Itkupilli
Poem: Me!

The poem reads:

As you laid down
to sleep in your beds,
I couldn't help bashing
your sweet little heads.

You'll never talk back
or tantrum or fight.
You're perfect now,
The loves of my life!

Valentine's Blog Hop, Smeared and Smudged Style!

Welcome to Smeared and Smudge's Member blog hop for February!

We are going to be doing Valentine’s Day Blog Hop Smeared and Smudged style! What exactly does that mean? It means we are challenging you this hop. The challenge is to create something Valentine’s Day / love themed, but there is a catch. Because we are Smeared and Smudged, you cannot use any of the following:

No Hearts

No Red or Pink

Nothing ‘cute’ unless you make it uncute of course :)

For my project I used a Smeared Ink's Aphrodite.  She is a free digi for the month of February.  To get your hands on an Aphrodite digi you just need to enter any of the challenges on the Smeared and Smudged Forum.  How awesome is that?!

Here's my offering for today's hop:

She is colored with Copic markers and Atyou Spica gel pens with highlights from an opaque white marker.  The papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs.  The sentiment is all me...can't you tell?  LOL!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love, Honor, and Obey

Wecolme to another addition of Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B. Today's post is a bit Risque.

I used two images from Smeared Ink's "Femdom" digital stamp set and colored them with copic markers. I scanned them and added them to a cool dungeon pic I found online. I couldn't see who made it so I can't give props. Heck, it may even be from a video game for all I know. Anyway, the dungeon background worked perfectly with these images. I used digi papers from Crafty Chaos Designs and typed in a sentiment.

Cheers!

Happy Birthday, Rio!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest, most selfless, and most generous 13 year old I know! Rather than receiving gifts or having a party, Rio, Betty's Daughter (from simply betty stamps) wanted to donate her birthday money to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Betty sold a special birthday image of Rio to raise additional funds for St. Jude's.  Several awesome folks out in blogland bought the image to support Rio's cause and created cards for her.  The whole story can be found on the SBC blog.  Rio turns 13 today and as a gift for her generosity, I created this card for her.

Happy Birthday, Girl!  You RAWK!

Smeared Ink Saturday

There are so many exciting things going on over at Smeared and Smudged right now!  The newest addition to the Smeared Ink Family is "Smudgy Antics".  Smudgy Antics is the Smeared Ink Design Team Blog.  The new blog was designed to feature the DT projects all in one spot so our Smeared Ink Minions can get their inspiration with just one click.  The awesome thing about this blog is that each day of the week is sponsored by a different DT member so everyday will be filled with artistic inspiration and eye candy.

Saturdays are my posting days.  I get to be the first to display my projects.  Woot!  Woot!  I feel like I should have something profound to say, but alas, I don't.

Let's get on with the art!

These awesome images are from the creative mind of Misty Benson and were put into rubber for Smeared Ink.  Aren't they lovely?  The are so fun to color!  I stamped them with Memento Ink and colored them with my Copic Markers.    The background papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs.

In my first project, I made some matching screw embellishments.  I think I'm starting to get the hang of this photoshop thing!  In my second project I added some purple and black roses from one of my Itkupilli collage sheets.

As soon as I get some clay I plan on making some decorative tiles with these babies!  Since I am only featuring two of the four images in the set, here is a pic of the set in it's entirety:

The set is 8.5" x 11" of deeply etched unmounted rubber.  It can be purchased in the shop as can cling mount in the same size if desired.

Thanks for Dropping By!

Cheers!

Smeared Ink and Delicious Doodles Blog Hop

Smeared Ink is sponsoring a challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  In celebration of this collaboration, we are doing a combined DT blog hop!  The DD gals will be using Smeared Ink images and the SI gals will be utilizing Teri's sketch.  Be sure to hop along so you can check out all the projects made by the DT gals on both teams.

Here is the sketch Teri made:

Here are my interpretations of the sketch:

I used images from Smeared Ink's "Femdom" digi set for all three projects.  I also used digi papers from Crafty Chaos Designs in all of my projects as well.  The first project uses a digi ATC background and black bows from Itkupilli.  The last project uses Itkupilli's black bows again.  The masks in my second project are from Smeared Ink's "Femdom" set.

Here is the hop list:
