SBS 12 Days of Christmas - Day 3

Are you all having fun yet? I sure am and I am getting more and more into the Christmas spirit!

Before we get onto the next Challenge we must announce the winner for Day 2...
which can be found at the SBC blog.

Okay so onto day 3... Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...your branches dry and Creepy! Ha! How's that for a twist on a traditional Christmas song?!?

You can guess what the challenge is right???  Using any SBS image,  incorporate a Creepy Christmas Tree! Just think Emo! LOL I think if it were up to our youth of this day in age there would be ornaments with bats, skulls, and spiders! Make it cute, make it scary whatever you do just make it a Creepy Christmas Tree! After all Jack Skellington manages to do so every year at Disneyland, we can to!

Today's Prize:

Any 3 images from the new Kat Mandu and Friends line!

Now here is a little Creepy Christmas Tree inspiration from me to help you get thinking in the right direction! You have until Dec. 1st at 11:00 PM PST to upload your Creepiness!  Be sure to check out what the girls of the DT have made for your inspiration at the SBC blog!

I used one of Simply Betty's "Spooky Hallow" Digis, Damien.  Isn't he the handsome fellow?  He is printed at 4" x 6" and colored with copic markers.  I used Echo Park cardstock which can be purchased at Simply Betty Stamps.  I also used generic black cardstock for matting.  The plain ornaments on the tree are stickers.  Sorry, I don't remember the brand.  I then scanned the whole thing and added digi spiders, snowflakes, a cat, the eyeball ornaments, and the sentiment.

Whew!
I hope you like what I've created!
Thanks for Stopping By!

12 Days of Christmas with SBC...Day 2

Day 2 whoop whoop! So how was Day 1 for you all? Holiday colliding fun? I sure hope so! Well as mentioned before, these 12 days we will be giving away he prize to one winner for every challenge.
Now let's get onto Day #2!  What is Christmas without the Grinch!?  Why, it's just not Christmas at all! Today we are challenging you to create the best Grinch-mas project you can think of! For this one you can use any image, doesn't have to be an SBS image, but remember it always help sway the judges when choosing a winner! Wink wink!

Today's Prize:

Any 2 SBS rubber stamps winner's choice! Remember you have until Nov. 29th at 11:00 pm PST to upload your creations to the inlinkz code on the SBC blog.

Here is my creation for your inspiration:

For the front of my card, I used Simply Betty Stamps "Pumpkin London" and colored her up with copic markers.  I scanned her into my computer and added the digital snowflakes, the Santa's hat, and the prezzies.  I also added a grungy texture overlay.  I printed London out and accented her with my Atyou Spica glitter pens.  I mounted her on generic black cardstock and added accents of Echo Park cardstock which I got from Betty.  What?  You didn't know that Betty sold papers too?  Well, you'd better check it out because she has an awesome collection that goes perfectly with her images!
For the inside of my card I took an image from the movie poster and altered it a bit.  I cropped out the title, actors, and rating and added the sentiment "Merry Grinchmas!".  I printed this and mounted it to black cardstock with my Echo Park cardstock accent.

I hope I've given you some inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers!

Smeared Ink gets Crafty with Kenny K!!!!

Smeared Ink

Welcome, my friends! I'm so glad you can join us for this very cool DT hop featuring Kenny K's awesome images! If you're not familiar with Kenny K, you MUST check him out! His images are EDGY and HAWT! If you don't have an image or two of his you are DEFINITELY missing out! The Smeared INK DT had the privilege of working with some of Kenny's awesome images. Check out the projects the DT gals have come up with for your viewing pleasure and be sure to leave some love. If you like what you see, be sure to pick up an image or two at Kenny's store. Also, be sure to check out Smeared Ink's forum, Smeared and Smudged, for more delicious eye-candy and inspiration. The gals and I would love to have you hang with us!

Here is my offering for the hop:

I used Kenny K's "Mrs. Claus" image and colored her up with Copic markers.  Is she not the hottest?  I'm talking Sizzling Hawt!  It's no wonder Santa can stay so warm in the North Pole!

After coloring Mrs. Claus I scanned her and uploaded her to my flickr account.  There I added the snowflakes, lights, border, and sentiment.  I kept this project simple because I didn't want anything to distract from this awesome image.

BTW...Did you know that Kenny K is sponsoring the Smeared ink Sketch challenges and the Smeared Ink Photo inspiration challenges this month?  Yeppers!  You can have a chance to win some of these beauties just by playing along!

Thanks for Stopping By!
Here is the blogroll for the hop:

Smeared Ink Saturday

Here is yet another installment of Smeared Ink Saturday.  Today I am featuring three sets of Smeared Ink Stamps:  "Candy is Dandy", "Urban Decay", and "As Death".  These sets can be purchased at www.smearedink.com.

This first project uses a background image from "Urban Decay" colored with Copic Markers and mounted on a caution sticker and DCWV cardstock.  The green creature is from the "Candy is Dandy" stamp set and colored with my copics.

My second project uses "As Death" rubber stamp set, colored with Ranger Distress Ink and mounted on a series of printed Itkupilli digital backgrounds and black cardstock.  The whole piece was then scanned and enhanced with picnik photo editing.

My last project uses "As Death" which was stamped onto clay coated cardstock and colored with Ranger Distress Inks in three shades of green.  A digital Santa's hat from Kenny K was printed, colored, and cut out to add a bit of Christmas cheer.  The piece was mounted on DCWV cardstock.

Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop!!!

SmearedInk

Smeared Ink is having a new release!  In celebration, the Smeared Ink DT members are having a blog hop. Be sure to check out each blog to see the awesomeness the ladies have created for your viewing pleasure.

Four exquisite new stamp sets are available for preorder now,  including artwork from Misty Benson and two must-have background sets.  Preorders will ship by November 30.

Here is a peek at the new stamps which are available for pre-order at the store.

I used a background image from Smeared Ink's new rubber stamp line "Urban Decay".  Rather than use this as a background piece, I grunged it up so that it would look awesome center-stage.   I had sooo much fun creating with these grungy images.  Stay tuned for more projects using this set.  These stamped images would be ideal for ATCs, scrapbooking, altered art, or projects with clay.  I'll bet they'd make great charms if stamped on shrinky dink material and baked.  Oh....the ideas are flowing!  Heck, I may even make Christmas ornaments out of these bad boys!

click the images for a larger view.

The bottom image is my original.  I used a ton of distress ink in crused olive, spiced marmelade, shabby shutters, fired brick, and vintage photo.  I brightened the "open" area with copic markers and dotted my copic markers over the whole piece to add to the grunginess.  I used apple green (forgot the number), R27, R59, G19, and Y17.  Other than the reflective background, this is all done by hand.

The first photo is actually the same project, but I played around with a paint splatter filter on picnik and darkend the photo up a bit.

For you newbies to Smeared Ink Stamps, be sure to check out our forum, Smeared and Smudged.  There are awesome folks with a plethora of artistic talent.  We have monthly challenges, image swaps, and ATC swaps.  There is even a "Vent" section for the members to chat as well as a gallery to share your stamped creations.  You should definitely check it out.  All artistic styles are welcomed.  This was a relief for me as other groups have banned my projects in the past.  It's awesome having a place to share my work with a group of people that don't make me feel like I belong on the Island of Misfit Toys.

Thanks for Stopping by!

Smeared Ink Saturday...on a Sunday!!!

Smeared Ink

As most of you know, I have been ill the past few weeks. I'm starting to feel a little better. Here are some cool new projects I made with Smeared Ink Stamps "The Symbology of Angels" and "Candy is Dandy" rubber stamp sets.
All the projects today are hybrids using a combo of traditional stamping fused with digital elements and backgrounds. I'm growing quite fond of this style. If I ever take the time to learn photoshop I'll bet I could pump out some pretty bad-azzed projects!

Thanks for stopping by!

These papers are going to look great with the new Christmas Emos! Especially for the upcoming 12 Days of Christmas! Whoo hoo!!

You should be arriving from Kim's Blog. If you are just arriving you'll need to start HERE so you don't miss a thing!
For my release project I chose to work with Candy Cane London. Isn't she Fab?  Click the image to enlarge the pic.

London is colored with Copic markers.  I used an atyou spica gel pen to add a little sparkle to her eyes and mounted her on Karen Foster DP and generic black cardstock.  The "snowflakes" die-cut is from my old stash of goodies.  I think it is from Mistletoe Memores.
There is also a Sketch Challenge for Simply Betty Challenges going on right now. That's right, now that the "12 Days of Halloween" is over we can play again!  I wasn't able to get a card done for the challenge yet because I have been horribly ill this past week.  I do intend to make a project so check back later this week.

Our very own Cheri from Graphic Cat created this wonderful Sketch for us and you!
